Hello everyone.
First of all let me thank you for looking at my little blog. What started as a personal challeng to take more photos has turned into something of an obsession. I have learned a lot about what makes a good photograph from the people I follow, both professional and amateur, using eveything from the lowly iPhone to high end gear. I hope that what I have learned is reflected in my own work. If you are interested take a look at my Likes page to see some of my influences and follow them all.
On to the part that describes who I am… My name is Sean and I live with my girlfriend, our brand new baby girl, and two cats in a cozy little apartment in beautiful Vancouver British Columbia. I am not a professional photographer and have never made a dime off of any photography, by trade I am an electrician. This means that my photography is limited to a few hours a week, usually on the weekend or in the evening. With my new baby I’m sure it will be limited even more, but limitations are part of the challenge. When I am out taking pictures I usually go for a cruise on my bike or wander around my the city and take photos of whatever catches my eye. Occasionally I take a few photos at work but I am usually to busy/wet/dirty to think about pulling out my camera.
My gear is pretty simple. For the most part I am using a Nikon D40x with a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens. I also have and 18-200mm which I use sometimes, but it is kind of big and heavy, so I usually just stick to the 35mm and let my feet do the zooming. I also use my iPhone with a variety of camera apps. (current favorites are ClassicINSTA, and Shake it Photo)
